Unless you live under a rock (and that would be very uncomfortable), you are aware that our world has been impacted radically by the COVID virus and its various infection surges. As a physician and someone who has been at the front lines of this pandemic, I can tell you there is nothing controversial about watching people suffer the consequences of this infection. Whether you support or reject some or all of the information that is distributed either through social media, mainstream media, medical journals, or word of mouth, all of us have been impacted in one way or another. As a rabbi and shepherd of CBY, I encourage you to prayerfully approach this issue with a serious mindset, but without the fear that often accompanies encountering the afore-mentioned reports.
Having said that, we have and will continue to implement the following expectations at CBY:
1. If you have experienced any upper respiratory or other infectious symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has within the last week, please feel free to watch our service via live stream from home.
2. If you are attending in person, we welcome you to our congregation - you are welcome to wear a mask, although it is not a requirement. If you do experience a cough or sneezing, which is normal even in healthy individuals, please cover your mouth and nose with a kleenex and/or the inside of your elbow.
3. We commit to a safe environment through disinfecting door handles, bathrooms, and other common areas both before and after services.
4. Please feel free to sit with your family or your group and at least 1 seat apart from other individuals or groups.
Thank you for your understanding, your respect for others and your support for our commitment to safety.
In Messiah's Love,
rabbi Daniel
